Prattville is a city in Autauga County, Alabama and Elmore County, Alabama Counties in the U.S. state of Alabama. As of 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 31,119. The city is the county seat of Autauga County, Alabama. It is nicknamed "The Fountain City" due to the many artesian wells in the area. The city was founded in 1839 by well-known industrialist and architect Daniel Pratt.
